The Importance

In my prior career, one of the aspects of my work that I enjoyed was writing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other procedurals. My appreciation and enjoyment of these experiences have increased since returning to school.

In many vocations, precise, detailed directions are essential for success and safety. SOPs provide guidelines for properly performing the requisite duties for daily work. The example included here is the result of an assignment completed for a course in my program.

 

This project was a high point for this course and, considering my prior experience, one that stands out amongst my completed coursework. The goal of this project involved creating a procedural document detailing the SOPs for the van operators of a fictional transportation company. The final report included written and visual elements to carefully present the detailed information effectively while limiting the potential for any confusion from readers.
