Project Closure

IIn my previous career, an enjoyable aspect of my work was overseeing various projects, making this report an enjoyable experience. Some of the steps reminded me of prior tasks and offered another perspective on managing these scenarios effectively.

Throughout the course, a fictional project was performed involving multiple parties. Each student acted as the project manager responsible for all aspects of the job they were overseeing. That involved a homeowner designing and completing an extensive backyard renovation. Being poised to think about the ‘project’ and contrast past experiences with the teaching methodologies was something I found to be very beneficial. It was a rare opportunity to be in control of a project of this scale without real-world ramifications should mistakes occur. The final report is shown here and offers a summation of the project.

I enjoyed working through the steps and especially appreciated the random “unexpected” change of plan sent to us by the instructor during the course to reinforce the importance of adapting to unforeseen issues as they arise
